Cutler Announces Over $1 Million Investment for Strasburg Railroad Track Rehabilitation
January 22, 2026
HARRISBURG – Rep. Bryan Cutler (R-Peach Bottom) announced today that Strasburg Railroad has been awarded a $1.2 million grant via PennDOT. This grant will be used to rehabilitate approximately 3,000 feet of track, improve a grade crossing and install permanent bulk transloading equipment.
The funding was awarded through PennDOT’s Rail Freight Assistance Program and Rail Transportation Assistance Program, which provide financial support for rail infrastructure improvements that improve freight movement and reduce highway congestion.
“This is excellent news for Strasburg Railroad,” said Cutler. “This is a major investment that will help improve our railway infrastructure in Lancaster County and make sure it is safe to use for our train operators, while also improving economic activity in our community.”
