HARRISBURG – House Republican Leader Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) said Tuesday that the House Democrats misguided focus and political governance is helping special interests instead of real people.

On Tuesday alone, Democrats advanced an admittedly incomplete increase to the mandated wage that will hurt workers, small businesses and non-profits while pushing for a tax credit even those it is designed to help say “misses the mark” on solving labor shortages in teaching, nursing and policing.

“With the traditional budget deadline fast approaching, Pennsylvanians are eagerly waiting to see how state government is going to spend their tax dollars. But as the days continue to tick by, House Democratic leaders seem more interested in helping special interests and political posturing than leading the Commonwealth into a better tomorrow,” Cutler said.

“House Republicans continue to bring our ideas for how to move Pennsylvania forward to the House floor, only to be met with procedural roadblocks put up by the majority party in the House. While House Democrats continue with an unfocused approach to managing the affairs of Pennsylvania, House Republicans continue to stand at the ready to support commonsense proposals that grow our economy, increase affordability, create safe communities and put children first in education. We remain one reasonable Democrat away from moving Pennsylvania forward.”
