HARRISBURG – Following a week of Democrat-led votes on increasing costs on Pennsylvanians, misplaced criminal justice priorities, and efforts that will make it harder to do business in Pennsylvania, House Republican Leader Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) issued the following statement:
“This week, the Pennsylvania House Democrats advanced a budget that will bankrupt Pennsylvania and passed bills to make it harder to do business in the Commonwealth by putting unnecessary mandates on small businesses and making criminals out of Pennsylvanians legally exercising their constitutional rights to own and use firearms.
“While our cities face a major crime and violence problem, Democrats instead chose to throw the book at litterers while voting against proposals to lower energy prices on Pennsylvanians and provide more funding to our public schools.
“Their bills and their votes are their priorities. This week they showed again their priorities are not with the people of Pennsylvania.
“House Republicans are ready to help craft a fiscally responsible budget and advance bills that create a thriving economy, affordable living, safe communities, and a child-first family-focused education. We hope House Democrats return in June ready to join us in that effort.”
