HARRISBURG – House Majority Leader Rep. Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) issues the following statement on
Senate Bill 857, which is its way to the governor’s Desk:
“Pennsylvania is facing the most challenging health event in the last 100 years. Doctors, nurses and all health care providers are being called upon to react, protect and treat patients suffering the effects of COVID-19. Modernizing and using telemedicine at this difficult time is a much-needed advancement for everyone involved in slowing the spread of the virus.
“I applaud the Senate for acting today and moving this legislation to Gov. Wolf for his signature. Health care providers need this now, not just to help people suffering the effects of COVID-19, but also to keep other patients from not having to interact in health care facilities where COVID-19 may be present.
“This bill will help Pennsylvanians recover from COVID-19, it will help slow the spread to new patients, and it will give medical professionals more options for treating patients in need. I strongly urge Gov. Wolf to prioritize the health of all our people and sign this bill.”
