HARRISBURG – Pennsylvania House Republican Leader Bryan Cutler (R-Lancaster) Wednesday made the following statement on the National Football League’s announcement that Pittsburgh will play host to the 2026 NFL draft.
“I am proud and excited the National Football League has chosen Pittsburgh as the site of the 2026 NFL draft. Pittsburgh is one of this nation’s great sports cities and, as we will be celebrating the 250th anniversary of the birth of our nation, exemplifies the spirit of American resilience and growth.
“The addition of the NFL draft will provide great weight to the many national and worldwide events occurring in Pennsylvania during 2026, such as the World Cup and PGA Championship, that will highlight the Commonwealth’s primacy as the birthplace of American liberty and independence, which remains a beacon of hope to the entire world.
“During these uncertain times, it will be a comfort to have displayed for the nation Pennsylvania’s continuing contributions to the promise of our freedoms as we lead the country in renewing our commitment to the founding principles that have made the United States of America the greatest nation on Earth.”
