100th District Casino Opt Out
The General Assembly passed a gaming expansion bill as part of the budget bill package required to complete the budget, which Gov. Tom Wolf signed into law in October. The final product, Act No. 42 of 2017, was worked on over a number of months. The bill contains a provision I specifically asked to be included and believe is critical for the future of our communities.

Specifically, the law permits municipalities to opt out of hosting the expansion of Category 4, or mini-casinos, gaming expansion from taking place in their respective areas. Municipalities, should they feel it is in the best interests of their constituencies, can opt out.

All municipalities in the 100th District have opted out.
