10/24/2014
HARRISBURG – Rep. Bryan Cutler (R-Peach Bottom) announced that the 100th Legislative District received $367,500 in grants from the Community Conservation Partnerships Program (CCPP) to assist with the completion of projects to benefit residents.

Paradise Township will receive $180,000 to rehabilitate and further develop Community Park in Paradise Township. The project includes construction of a pavilion, parking areas, a pedestrian walkway, a rain garden, installation of play equipment with required safety surfacing and fencing, ADA access, landscaping, project sign and other related site improvements.

Providence Township will be awarded $150,000 to further develop the Enola Low Grade Rail Trail in Bart, Conestoga, Eden, Martic, Providence and Sadsbury townships as well as Quarryville Borough. Approximately 15 miles of trail will be constructed from the Conestoga Creek in Conestoga Township to Noble Road in Sadsbury Township. Two pedestrian bridges, drainage improvements, signage, landscaping, ADA access and other site-related improvements are also included in the project.

Manor Township will receive $37,500 to rehabilitate the Safe Harbor Bridge over the Conestoga Creek on the Enola Low Grade Rail Trail in Manor and Conestoga townships.

“This funding will improve the quality of life in our district by providing new opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors with friends and family,” Cutler said. “Whether you prefer to hike or bike on the Rail Trail, or play with your children at a local park, these grants will enhance the time you spend together outside.”

The CCPP program is administered by the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources’ Bureau of Recreation and Conservation to provide financial and technical assistance to local governments, river and trail organizations, land trusts and other nonprofits for planning, acquisition and development of park, recreation, conservation and greenway projects.
